Kiev slaps 5-yr anti-dumping duty on Russian reinforcement bars
KIEV, Dec 29 (PRIME) – Ukraine will slap a five-year 15.21% anti-dumping duty on imports of reinforcement bars and rolled metal products from Russia starting from February 27, an interdepartmental commission on international trade said in a statement on Friday.
The decision was made on request from the Economic Development and Trade Ministry based on results of an anti-dumping investigation.
“After studying the results, the commission made a positive conclusion that financial damage was inflicted on the national product maker. In 2014–2016, the production amount contracted by 8.55%, the loading of production capacities decreased by 10.85%, domestic sales fell 1.75%, the share of the national product maker on the internal market contracted 7.2%, personnel shrank by 15.37%, investment fell 8.01%, and so on,” the statement read.
At the same time, prices of products imported from Russia were lower than prices of national producers during the investigation period, the commission said.
